Requirements

Before installing Oleva Admin Cleaner(OAC), make sure your WordPress environment meets the following requirements.

System Requirements

Oleva Admin Cleaner requires:

  • WordPress: 6.0 or later
  • PHP: 8.0 or later
  • Browser: A modern web browser with JavaScript enabled
  • User access: Administrator access is recommended for installation and initial configuration

For the best compatibility and security, we recommend using currently supported versions of WordPress and PHP whenever possible.

WordPress Compatibility

AUC is designed to work with standard WordPress admin screens and follows WordPress APIs and hooks without modifying WordPress core files.

The plugin has been tested with multiple WordPress versions, including:

  • WordPress 6.0.x
  • WordPress 6.9.x
  • WordPress 7.0

Newer WordPress versions may also be supported as they become available. We recommend keeping both WordPress and Oleva Admin Cleaner up to date.

PHP Compatibility

Oleva Admin Cleaner requires PHP 8.0 or later.

If you are unsure which PHP version your website is using, you can check it from:

If your website is running an older PHP version, contact your hosting provider or server administrator before installing AUC.

Browser Requirements

AUC uses JavaScript for parts of its administration interface.

We recommend using a current version of a modern browser such as:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari

JavaScript must be enabled for the AUC administration interface to work correctly.

Permissions

You should install and initially configure AUC using a WordPress administrator account.

Some AUC configurations can change what selected users or roles see and access in the WordPress admin area.

Before applying restrictions to other administrators, we recommend reviewing the Safety & Recovery documentation and making sure you understand the available recovery options.

WordPress Multisite

Oleva Admin Cleaner does not currently support WordPress Multisite.

AUC should be installed and used on standard single-site WordPress installations.

Multisite support may be considered in a future release.

Before You Install

Before installing or configuring AUC on an existing website, we recommend:

  1. Creating a recent backup of your website.
  2. Confirming that you have administrator access.
  3. Making sure your WordPress and PHP versions meet the requirements.
  4. Keeping access to your hosting control panel or server available when making significant admin-access changes.
